Sreelekha Mitra bags nomination for best actress at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

From Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, Ranveer Singh’s 83, Vicky Kaushal’s Sardaar Udham to Suriya’s Jai Bhim, several films have been nominated at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2022, which will take place on August 14 in Melbourne. And good news comes to Bengal, too, as our Tollywood actress Sreelekha Mitra has been nominated in the best actress category for her performance in Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s Once Upon A Time in Calcutta’. Her nomination will clash with actresses like Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, and Vidya Balan.

While Alia has been nominated for Gangubai Kathiawadi, Bhumi Pednekar has bagged nomination for Badhaai Do, Deepika has been nominated for Gehraiyaan. Even Konkona Sen Sharma has also been nominated for her performance in The Rapist. Then, there’s Shefali Shah and Vidya Balan for Jalsa and Sreelekha for Bengali film Once Upon A Time In Calcutta.

In the best actor category, there’s Ranveer Singh for 83, Rajkummar Rao for Badhaai Do, Suriya for Jai Bhim, Tovino Thomas for Malayalam film Minnal Murali, Vicky Kaushal for Sardar Udham and Abhishek Bachchan for his performance in Dasvi.
